Resources and Training Center

The Cambria Heights School District opened a Training & Resource Center (located in the district Special Education & Student Services Office located in the CH High School - Room B161 ) in 2014 which provides students, parents / family members, and district professionals access to many training resources for professionals of all levels. The Center is also an area where district professionals may view webinars and other on-line trainings. *A comprehensive collection of current and archived Professional Development Training presentations are accessible through the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) to be viewed in the Training Center – or anytime online at http://www.pattan.net

For Students / Parents / Caregivers / Family Members:

The CH Training and Resource Center has multi-media and written resources for Students, Parents / Guardians / Surrogates / Family Members that is accessible to them at any time the office is open (and by special arrangement). Caregivers are able to access resources regarding their rights and responsibilities in the educational process. Examples of resources include: Best Supporting Your Son/Daughter in School, Understanding Procedural Safeguards and the Special Education Process, Helping Young Students Transition to School-Age Programming, Enhancing Involvement with School Teams and Effective Advocacy, Being Partners in Professional Development, Understanding Terminology and Special Education Processes IEP, PBSP, Concussion Management / BrainSteps, Transition Resources, and Local Support Agencies.

For School Professionals (Administrators, Regular and Special Education Teachers, Related Arts Teachers, Related Services Personnel):

Multimedia and Written Professional Development Materials Accessible in Center Examples: Reading Assessment and Comprehension Strategies, Differentiated / Focused Curricular Accommodations and Instructional Strategies to Reduce Barriers and Provide Access to Regular Education Environments and the General Education Curriculum, Supplementary Aids and Services (SaS) Considerations Process, Using Assistive Technology, Teaching Students Who are Higher Achieving / Gifted within the General Curriculum, Co-Teaching and Collaborative Strategies, “Return to Learn” Concussion Management School Protocol and Procedures, and Providing Positive Behavioral Supports.

For Paraeducators & Other School / Agency / Transportation Support Staff:
